I have sold two high end builder foreclosures and the biggest problem is people stealing the AC condensor’s. I contacted a couple companies and found one that does Foreclosure clean up and builder completions. They were great and did over 65K in renovations. Not bad for a week’s worth of work.
Yes your Business is very important. Not all people who are foreclosed on leave thie property how they bought it. Some are trashed and re-keying is very important.
Great article. As a Realtor in Tampa Bay Florida I have quite a bit of experience with foreclosures. It is becoming more and more common for foreclosures to be stripped of appliances, lighting fixtures, ceiling fans, kitchen and bathroom counters and cabinets, mirrors, etc… Even air conditioners are getting pulled! In the process of stripping the home a pretty nasty mess is often left behind. So a business cleaning up foreclosures is a great opportunity. The key to success would be to get a list of the Realtors that handle REO’s and contact them with your clean-up services.
Since you are on that field, you may add some yard maintenance or even fix up construction. I think this is a good idea…

“While the items that you’ll have to remove are trash and debris, at times you will find things that you can still re-purposed, reclaimed, or recycled.”. Another thing which you may have to clean up is your own marital life as this is never easy on you or your spouse. This is also one of the most overlooked areas of the foreclosure business, yet a lot of couples go through this and unfortunately they don’t always make it out together.
Anyone looking to fix and flip one of these foreclosures let me know, we have financing.
This is sooo sad. People who bought the house should surely be encouraged to stay on as this would surely be in the banks best interests? That would mean that everyone has a stake in keeping the house as nice as possible so as to get the best price, surely?
So far, touch wood! Australia hasn’t had it too bad but in my opinion, the crises isn’t over yet.
Still, it’s good to see that “one persons poison is another persons paradise” or “every cloud has a silver lining” ~ still doesn’t help much though, does it?
Foreclosure is good for the businessmen but for the people it’s very devastating. Financing should be the key.

There are many jobs out there that just have to be beseech on. Is it hard to start doing this? Because I think, you will deal mostly with banks and real estate agencies. The best way to start out is to target real estate agents that specialize in foreclosures. Moreover, the pricing is comparative to so many things.
